Catherine Chavez

Catherine Chavez is a retired finance professional. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BS in Accountancy and started her career at Ernst & Young, Chicago as a Certified Public Accountant. In 1991 she was recruited by McDonald’s Corporation where she spent the next 32 years in many different mid-management and leadership roles until her retirement in 2022.  

Over the years she has volunteered for a number of organizations and held various leadership positions.  She was on the Board of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Treasurer (2015-2020). At McDonald’s she was the Women’s Leadership Network Sponsor and involved with the Pride Network and the Black McDonald’s Operator Association. 

Catherine and her husband, Hugo,  have resided in Oak Park/River Forest for over 30 years.  They have a son (Kevin) who is 18 years old and attends OPRF.  

Catherine is excited to be on the MFA board as she is a dance enthusiast and a strong supporter of dance and the arts in the Chicagoland area.  She regularly attends dance performances along with taking weekly ballet class at Visceral Dance Chicago.
